 I committed to investing in myself through training, seminars, and business classes. Education gave me the foundation, but I learned that action was just as important. With courage and faith, I applied for a zero‑interest loan from M&M Angel Partners’ Perpetual Spark Program, which became the seed capital for C.A.’s Creations. Step by step, I implemented what I learned, trusting the process and allowing experience to refine me as an entrepreneur. 

 Today, I successfully run C.A.’s Creations, specializing in event backdrop decoration, while also expanding into hosting and directing. This journey has improved my life, strengthened my confidence, and deepened my faith. Gratitude has become my guiding principle — every win, big or small, inspires me to grow, give, and serve my family, community, and church. My story is proof that with determination, faith, and immediate action, transformation is not only possible, it is inevitable.

That seed capital allowed us to start MJ Fish Trading, beginning small and growing steadily through hard work and consistency.

 MJ Fish Trading is now our family’s main source of income, enabling us to meet daily needs, save for the future, and prepare for emergencies. The business also provides extra income to neighbors as assistants and haulers, strengthening the local community. For us, this journey is more than profit — it is a testimony of resilience, faith, and the power of self-reliance.

 Life was hard! My family constantly faced serious financial struggles. In our community, job opportunities are scarce and wages too low to meet even basic needs. Providing food, paying bills, and preparing for emergencies felt like an uphill battle. I prayed that somehow, we could become self-reliant.

 

  I joined Self-Reliance classes offered by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Start Now training from the Academy for Creating Enterprise (ACE). I’m deeply grateful for the ACE Academy, where I learned the rules of thumb for growing a successful business.
 

I started buying and selling fresh fruit, but lacked the capital to expand. My prayers were answered through a zero-interest loan from M&M Angel Partners’ Perpetual Spark Program. At first, I struggled without a physical store — relying only on Facebook posts, online bookings, and home deliveries. If no orders came in, there was no income. Suppliers were also limited, and sometimes I couldn’t meet customer demand.
 

Even with these challenges, I never lost hope. I never gave up. Through the M&M Angel Partners Mentoring Program, I found guidance and strength. After prayer and personal revelation, I asked to restructure my loan to add ₱10,000 for building a small store. With faith and perseverance, I overcame permit issues and kept moving forward, knowing my purpose was not instant wealth, but daily survival and self-reliance. 

Today, I see my little achievements turning into big blessings. I now have my own store — no monthly rent! I sell a good variety of fruits daily, plus LPG for household needs. My store even carries medicines, so when neighbors get sick, they don’t need to travel to town; I’ve become the nearest pharmacy on the boulevard.
 

Suppliers now come to me, offering their products. My children are learning to value customers and help in the store. With faith, perseverance, training, and support, our family is making steady progress toward true self-reliance.

With their mentoring help, I gained more knowledge about running a sari sari store and was able to purchase the equipment and supplies needed to start my business. 

Through the business I built with the help of my two daughters and the Perpetual Spark Program, I am now more financially sustainable. The profit from my store allows me to provide food for myself and meet my daily needs. This small business is giving me dignity, independence, and hope for a bright future.

  I always knew I didn’t want to live in poverty forever. Financial hardship pushed me to work harder and face life’s challenges head-on, especially after starting my own family. I wanted to provide for my wife and child and make sure their needs were met. Even with a job and careful budgeting, my salary was never enough to support us fully. 

Because of this, I decided to start a business that I was already familiar with—raising pigs.   Completed training offered by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Academy for Creating Enterprise (ACE). However, I did not have enough capital to begin. Fortunately, God sent us a blessing through the M&M Angel Partners Perpetual Spark Program, which helps beginning entrepreneurs who have completed the Church’s Self-Reliance Program and ACE training. With their support, I learned more about pig farming and was able to purchase the equipment and supplies I needed for my business. 

After just a few months, we began to overcome our financial struggles. We sold our pigs and were able to buy many of the things our family needed. What started with only three pigs for fattening has now grown into two sows producing piglets — a sign of progress and hope. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and support that helped my family move toward a better, self-reliant future.

With no steady income, we faced financial difficulties. There were times when we had debts because our income was barely enough just for our basic needs. I thought that if I had my own business, things would be better and I could even save some money.

 I started working as a caretaker at a fish shelter owned by my uncle, but it wasn't yet my own business. I had to check on it every week to make sure it was well cared for and that nothing would go wrong until the fish were ready for harvest. It was hard work and required a lot of patience until harvest season came. Then, I learned about M&M Angel Partners' Perpetual Spark Program. They gave me training in business planning, budgeting, and marketing. They also provided me with a zero-interest Perpetual Spark Program loan which provided the capital I needed to buy materials to start and manage my own fish shelter business. Their guidance and encouragement gave me the confidence to keep going, even during difficult times when i felt discouraged. With their encouragement, I was able to hold onto my faith, trust God, stay disciplined, and never give up.

Because of my efforts and the support I received, JRIY Fish Shelters is stable and growing. Today, JRIY Fish Shelters is our family’s main source of income, providing stability, savings, and security. I can now provide for my family's daily needs and even save for emergencies. We now live with more peace and comfort. We have become more self-reliant and confident, knowing that through hard work, faith and trust in God, and the right support, the blessing of self-reliance becomes reality.

As an old widow, I faced financial hardships and very limited opportunities. It was difficult to imagine how I could sustain myself without relying on others.
